A history of lymphadenopathy should prompt a thorough search for underlying clinical conditions. A comprehensive examination should assess lymph nodes for size, location, characteristics, tenderness, consistency, and fixation to adjacent structures. The presence of lymphadenopathy associated with life-threatening oncological emergencies or complications requires urgent management. Referral is warranted in cases of generalized lymphadenopathy, clinical or histological evidence of malignancy, unexplained persistent lymphadenopathy, unresolved local nodes unresponsive to treatment, or lymphadenopathy associated with paraneoplastic syndromes.
