Headaches
摘要
Headaches are a common clinical complaint with a wide range of causes, from primary headache disorders to secondary conditions. This chapter highlights the vital role of primary care in the diagnosis and management of headaches, equipping clinicians with practical tools to distinguish between primary and secondary etiologies. It presents a structured approach to history-taking, physical examination, and indications for further investigation. Acute treatment options and preventive strategies for chronic headaches are discussed, alongside non-pharmacological interventions such as lifestyle changes and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Through evidence-based and practical guidance, this chapter aims to strengthen the capacity of primary care providers to manage headaches effectively, enhance patient quality of life, and reduce unnecessary specialist referrals.
