Comminution is an operation that uses mechanical or air flow methods to overcome the internal cohesion of solid materials and split them. According to the size of the materials handled by the comminution operation, splitting large pieces into small pieces is called crushing, and turning small pieces into fine powder is called grinding. Crushing and grinding are collectively called comminution or comminution operations, and the detailed division is shown in Table 1.
