Diagnosis and Treatment of COVID-19 Using Nanomedicinal Approach

One of the worst-hit pandemics, COVID-19, has spread like wildfire over countries with extremely high death rates. The primary issues raised by the COVID-19 infection, including early detection and treatments to mitigate mortality, are being consistently studied by researchers worldwide. The devastation wrought by the deadly COVID-19 virus cannot be adequately contained by conventional medical technologies. This indicates that in order to battle the current pandemic and combat its successor, or illness, should it ever emerge, there is an urgent need for creative and unique treatments in diagnostics and therapies. Immediate responses may arise from promising fields like nanotechnology and nanomedicine. By developing vaccines and carriers based on nanoparticles, nano-based medicine has garnered a powerful place that holds great promise for healing the infections caused by the corona virus. Owing to its increased surface-to-volume ratio and superior magnetic characteristics, nanoparticle-based approach is leading in the treatment and detection of this virus remarkably. The present chapter outlines the nanomedicine-based strategies to tackle COVID-19 and their applicability in managing a variety of infections and viruses, as well as comprehending their function in COVID-19 diagnostics and treatment.
