Risk includes three elements: risk source, risk factor, and risk event, among which the risk event is the core of the three elements. Risk events and accidents are two concepts of the same coin; a risk event is a potential accident, and an accident is the final transformation of a risk event. Therefore, accident analysis is the starting point of risk research and the basis for analyzing the formation mechanism, influencing factors, and consequences of risk.
