In tropical and subtropical regions of the world, ticks and mites are among the most common and successful pests that cause considerable economic losses. Bioacaricides are effective botanical extracts that provide natural and safe substitutes for synthetic pesticides for pest control because the chemicals present in the plant drastically affect pest physiology without affecting nontarget organisms or the environment. An innovative approach to enhancing the precision and effectiveness of bioacaricides is to merge nanotechnology with plant extracts and their bioactive constituents. Nanotechnology-based platforms enable the encapsulation and regulated release of various chemicals at the desired site of action, resulting in improved stability and sustained effectiveness and decreased dispersion of these chemicals in the environment. In this chapter, we reviewed some of the interesting studies that have used nanotechnology-associated bioacaricides for pest management and control.
