Vetinformatics is an emerging field with the potential to revolutionize veterinary science and improve animal health and welfare. It has several applications in various fields, including animal genetics and medicine, which helps improve breeding and understanding of genetic diseases in animals. Integrating and analyzing these data for effective disease diagnosis and treatment is a significant challenge for veterinary professionals. Integrating multi-omics data can aid in identifying drug targets for our desired therapeutic target. This approach can contribute to disease prevention and management and enhance productivity and sustainability in veterinary research. This chapter explored the use of multi-omics data in disease diagnostics, therapeutic target identification, and biomarker development for animal diseases. It aims to aid researchers in exploring novel drug targets and understanding the intricate interrelationships among biological systems for drug identification and advancement. This chapter also discusses the connection between data from different branches of omics science. It examines them in a multi-omics field to facilitate the discovery of novel prognostic, diagnostic, and therapeutic approaches. It also discusses the potential implications of this technology in veterinary care, highlighting the potential of researchers to gain insights into complex biological processes and systems in animals using informatics databases. This knowledge can help veterinarians and healthcare professionals develop more effective treatments and interventions for animals in need and improve farmed animals’ well-being and overall health.
