Building a Nation of Lifesavers
摘要
Singapore, a vibrant island city-state in Southeast Asia, may seem like a tranquil haven amid the hustle and bustle of the modern world. However, behind the scenes, the city-state is perpetually poised to address a variety of hazards through its robust disaster management framework. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) serves as the national focal point for disaster management, coordinating with multiple stakeholders and partners to implement a comprehensive Whole-of-Society and Whole-of-Government response strategy. This multi-tiered framework includes government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the community. The SCDF plays a pivotal role, orchestrating efforts with other agencies and the community to ensure a cohesive and effective response, aiming to realize the bold vision of “A Nation of Lifesavers.”
