Earlier, people used to go from doctor to doctor for in-clinic doctor and patient contact in which details of the patients were stored in the paper and that information was passed from one doctor to another. But now, people are opting for online consultation as it is flexible, comfortable, easiest, and the fastest means of consulting with the best doctors anywhere in the World. But these systems often have one drawback that gets ignored, which is the sharing of information between patient and doctor through the current system of data storage centers as a mediator. Nevertheless, alongside a captivating technology known as Blockchain shows a substantial responsibility concerning data management on these platforms. While certain hospitals diligently safeguard data privacy and security, regrettably, many others do not exhibit the same commitment. This results in varying degrees of protection, data misappropriation, or even misuse. These platforms that are made to make the data of patients secure operate on the principles of Web 3.0, where users function as both consumers and creators of content. In the spirit of public blockchains, Web 3.0 applications embrace openness, as their code is open-source and publicly accessible. This allows users to validate whether a protocol fulfills its claims and gives them the freedom to duplicate, amend, or enhance protocols. Thus, to overcome all the drawbacks that a hospital faces in managing a large amount of data, the paper discusses the idea of Blockchain Technology to design a secure Electronic Healthcare record-sharing system.
