This chapter discusses the importance of the inclusion of previous school education in a holistic view of engineering education. The typical STEM subjects are considered the biggest levers for technology-related learning in school and thus provide the foundation of technical competencies, skills, motivation, and interests to choose engineering education. Student success in STEM subjects depends significantly on the curriculum of these subjects and the qualifications of the subject teachers. Therefore, the core topic of the paper is how the qualification of technical subject teachers, as part of the STEM sector, can be achieved through a technology-optimised curriculum.
