Creating Online Courses: Framework for an Effective Delivery
摘要
Design education to be effective through an online platform needs to have an integrated framework of design lectures as case studies and projects discussion as live sessions. Our context of the study was the Open Design School project with a mandate to enhance the reach of design learning to interested participants outside of formal design learning institutions. For an effective online mode of teaching, we developed multiple design courses using two different methods: recordings of a live classroom lecture and recordings of a lecture in a studio setup. Through our journey of designing and conducting these courses, we gained insights into which method was effective for the students. We concluded that live recording of a course delivery and then editing the same with the inclusion of rich media enhances and elevates the learner’s experience.
