Decentralized Autonomous Social Innovation Design and Social Creativity in a Connected Society
摘要
After discussing the nature of connected societies and how they serve as social innovation design environments, the author introduced a contrasting design policy of decentralization/centralization in relation to individual/social creativity and well-being. The roles of design practice, design research, design education, and design faculty at a public university were indicated based on the design environment and design policy by referring to a decentralized autonomous social innovation design Inverted Vortex Model, which represents co-creative dynamics among stakeholders in various contexts. The discussion is summarized from the perspectives of creativity in social innovation design based on a connected society as follows: a potentially connected society can both accelerate centralized society and lead decentralized society by allowing the restructuring of social relationships; individual and social creativity is needed more in a decentralized society than in a centralized society, and these are the essential sources of a democratic society; design practice, design research, and design education can be a driving trinity that leads social innovation design.
