Distracted driving has been considered a major cause of traffic accidents in recent years. The present study aims to compare the in-vehicle distraction behaviour in novice and experienced drivers and its impact on crash risk probability. Data has been collected through an online questionnaire survey and 322 responses were obtained. Structural Equation Modeling was used for identifying relation between various in-vehicle distractions, dangerous driving behavior, rash driving behaviour and crash risk probability. A comparative study between distraction in novice and experienced drivers found that experienced drivers have a lower crash risk probability than novice drivers. ‘Mobile conversing’ is found to be one of the major contributing factors towards increasing the crash risk probability. It was also found that male drivers are more prone to rash driving behaviour than female drivers.
