Exploring Noncding RNAs Through Next-Generation Sequencing and Bioinformatics

The field of genomics has undergone a revolution with the introduction of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, which have allowed researchers to explore the complexities of the genome in greater detail. Our study focuses on the investigation of noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) using cutting-edge bioinformatics tools and NGS techniques. Previously regarded as genomic “dark matter,” noncoding RNAs have become important participants in a variety of biological processes, influencing the development of disease, cellular homeostasis, and gene regulation. The large volume of data produced by NGS platforms is analysed and interpreted using state-of-the-art bioinformatics techniques, which shed light on the intricate realm of ncRNAs. Current developments in computational technologies have created a prodigious momentum for the discovery and functional annotations of ncRNAs. Due to their sequence-specific mechanism, they are effectively being discovered using different bioinformatics approaches. These bioinformatics approaches play a crucial role in reducing the large pool of potential ncRNAs by pointing out to the high-confidence candidates. In this chapter, we addressed the advances in ncRNA research coupled with NGS and computational tools.
