Locomotor disability is the most common of all disabilities, it involves difficulty with walking running, doing functional activities etc. Assistive devices enable people with disability to participate in the activities of daily living, they are also very important elements in achieving sustainable development goals. Being an important element, still assistive technology is not used by people with locomotor disabilities. This research is being conducted to examine the challenges and existing techniques for resolving issues in AT. The Cochrane database was searched for existing reviews on the subject. MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Scopus databases were searched using the terms challenges, assistive technology, locomotor disabilities, and approaches. There are various challenges that contributed to the AT's abandonment people with disabilities majorly rely on NGOs or other government-aided camps The government should also emphasize manufacturing these products locally so that the need to import them can be eliminated. There should be some approach or a guideline to minimize the abandonment which is lacking in the area of assistive technology for people with disability.
