Inward and Outward
摘要
The inward and outward, the two opposing propensities of human psychology are imprinted on collective behavior patterns and traditional customs of a nation. They can also find their expressions in the layout of the classical garden and the spatial compositions of the architecture. As a nation from the Orient that has long been confined in the patriarchal system of feudal societies, the ancient Chinese had been cultivated into a reserved and introverted national character.
