Replenishment, Pricing and Preservation Technology Investment Decision for Deteriorating Items Following Price Sensitive Quadratic Demand Using Combined Payment Schemes
摘要
The advance, cash and credit methods are the only known payment options for settlement of account. Each of these methods have merits and demerits associated with them which can be discussed from viewpoints of supply chain players. Usually in any business deal, from the set of all possible combinations of the stated payment scheme, one is put to practice. This practice of integrating the payment scheme is known as advance-cash-credit (ACC) scheme. The proposed model is an attempt to fill up the gap, identified on reviewing the existing work, which discusses an inventory model inculcating combined payment scheme where inventory units deplete following price sensitive quadratic demand. Further, inventories are decaying in nature and for preservation of unit’s, proper tech investments are made. The described setup is mathematically exhibited and using analytical approach, profit is maximized by finding cycle time, selling price and preservation technology investment. Finally, for validation of formulated work, exemplars are discussed and sensitivity analysis is executed to gain parametric impacts on decision making.
