Historical note The Fundamental Theorem of Finite Abelian groups was primary developed by Kronecker (1823–1891). In 1870, he presented foundational concepts and theorems for finite Abelian groups within the context of algebraic number theory. In particular, he employed a notable abstract approach to explain the principles governing the combination of magnitudes. Through his efforts, Kronecker implicitly established the groundwork for defining finite Abelian groups.
