Review on Effects of Nanofluid as a Coolant in an Automobile Radiator
摘要
Engineers and scientists are taking efforts to increase the heat transfer rate in an automobile radiator for efficient use of thermal energy. Nanofluid is an attractive coolant because of its good heat transfer ability, and it can be utilized in system that required a fast response to temperature changes like an automobile cooling system. This article offers an overview of the experimental studies done on an assessment of nanofluids in vehicle cooling systems. Many parameters such as the preparation method of nanofluid, vol. fraction, size and shape of nanoparticles, and the surfactant used have a substantial impact on a nanofluid’s functioning in a cooling system. Although nanofluids have outstanding thermal performance in cooling systems, maintaining their stability is a greater challenge. The presence of metal nanoparticles increased the pressure drop, which has an impact on the pumping power. Therefore, a researcher focused on a hybrid nanofluid, which provides better thermal characteristics for a favorable coolant.
