Increasing climate change-related issues are a global concern, influencing international organizations to take immediate measures. To achieve global commitments for attaining carbon neutrality, renewable energy sources like hydrogen need to replace conventional non-renewable energy sources like coal and petrol in multiple applications like ammonia production, oil refining and methanol production, transport, and residential heating sectors. The value chain of hydrogen consists of production, storage, application, and deployment. The present paper explores various dimensions of the value chain of hydrogen produced through renewable energy sources known as green hydrogen (GH). The article provides an understanding of present research trends visualized through VoS software using keywords, researchers, citations, journals, countries, co-citation networks, and bibliographic coupling with a critical focus on the Indian scientific ecosystem. Multiple parameters like co-authorship patterns and institutional partnerships were evaluated to identify knowledge gaps and provide recommendations for potential research topics for future research investigations, which may give impetus to renewable energy in India and across the globe.
