Multidirectional transformation is a mechanism to synchronize more than two information sources. Instead of directly representing such synchronization, network of well-behaved bidirectional transformations can be used for the purpose. In our previous work, we have explored an architecture called Dejima as a bipartite network of bidirectional transformations in which two sets correspond to set of base tables and views, respectively, while each edge corresponds to a bidirectional transformation from one of the base tables to one of the views. Although the architecture has been found versatile to express various collaborative data sharing, it was not clear how to reconfigure the network while maintaining alignment of ranges of incident bidirectional transformations and how to achieve fairness in resolving conflicting updates concurrently reached the nodes. In this chapter, we briefly highlight our recent progress on these issues by bipartiteness-preserving evolution of nodes and edges for reconfiguration with range reconciliation, as well as a combination of operational transformation with delegated control on the application of transformations for fair resolution of conflicts.

摘要
