Allergic fungal sinusitis (AFS) was first described by Safirstein and Millar et al. in the 1970s and early 1980s and later taken up by Bent and Kuhn. AFS accounts for approximately 7% of all chronic sinusitis cases needing surgical intervention [1–4].
