Child labor remains a persistent and distressing issue in India, posing significant challenges to socio-economic development and the well-being of children. Indian cinema has emerged as a powerful tool for raising awareness about this complex issue. This study explores the portrayal of child labor in Indian films, examining historical context, representative films, enforcement challenges, and the impact of cinematic narratives on public perception. Enforcement challenges in combating child labor are explored, including obstacles to implementing laws and socio-economic factors complicating the problem. Government measures to address child labor and existing gaps in enforcement efforts are also discussed. The study concludes with an assessment of how cinematic portrayals shape public perception and contribute to awareness and advocacy efforts. This study aims to deepen understanding of the intersection between cinema, societal perceptions, and child labor in India. By critically examining cinematic representations, it seeks to inform future research and advocacy initiatives addressing this pressing social issue.
