Base isolator systems are effective vibration controllers in rapidly decreasing the acceleration of a structure during earthquakes. They play a role in structure control according to their properties. In this study, the effects of damping ratio and displacement constraint defined to the base isolator on the lateral displacement control of a rigid structure acting as one degree of freedom (SDOF) were investigated. For this purpose, various earthquake records were used in the analyses of the structural system, and isolator design parameters were optimized via flower pollination algorithm to minimize displacement and acceleration. Optimization was carried out with damping limits varying between 10 and 50% and 5 different displacement limits. When the results are evaluated, it can be seen that increasing the mobility of low-damped isolators has little effect on the structure displacement control, and as the isolator system damping increases, the motility required for optimum efficiency decreases.

摘要
