In today’s scenario plastic waste bottles are used to manufacture different sustainable textile products like shoes, beg, jackets, and garments by using advanced recycling process. Waste PET bottles can be converted into fiber and then into the yarn. Sewing threads play a major role in apparel and garment industry. Almost 50% of apparel markets depend of sewing thread so this area have enough space for this recycled PET sewing thread. This study presents new approaches to recycle the PET bottle waste to sewing threads. This study discusses approaches for collection, segregation methods for PET bottle waste. It discusses process of manufacturing sewing thread using PET bottle waste and various process parameters that affect the sewing thread performance. The study emphases advantages of PET bottle based sewing threads and their future scope.
