Noise Reduction Analysis in the Industrial Environment by Acoustic Materials
摘要
Millions of individuals experience negative effects from noise pollution every day and it can cause stress and major health problems including permanent hearing loss. A significant research area is now focused on creating sound-absorbing materials that are effective and affordable for noise reduction in big spaces, buildings and vehicles. This paper show that the analysis of how noise reduction take place after addition of different type of material in CNC and Robotics lab of NIT Kurukshetra, under different operating conditions where individual and multiple machines operate. The machines in CNC lab are Maxmil, Maxturn and Handling Cell and in Robotics lab are Spot Welding Cell, MIG Welding Cell and TIG Welding Cell. For the purpose of taking readings sound level meter (CEL-620B1) was used. The reading was taken in accordance with IS 10988–1984 standards. The results were obtained before and after use of acoustic materials in individual and combination of machines are presented in form of tables and graphs and both the result were compared to measure the effectiveness of the acoustic materials. Glass and curtain were used as acoustic materials. Readings were taken at appropriate stations for each source and time interval depending on the nature of source. Multiple readings were taken on same station to avoid errors. In order to provide light on future research approaches towards enhanced acoustic materials, opportunities and challenges are explored while engineering applications from the built environment to the industry were done.
