DePondFi’23 Challenge Summary
摘要
Aquaculture is now a significant part of the country’s economy, but fish infections are a serious threat to its success. Industry experts are burdened with spotting sick fish based on their behaviour. Therefore, there is an urgent need for an intelligent system that stops the spread of disease while enhancing aquatic well-being. Fish recognition in underwater photography, in particular, is essential for vision-based fish health analysis. Aquaculture could benefit from the combination of vision-based fish health analysis and intelligent technology, allowing for non-invasive monitoring, early disease identification, and enhanced fish population health. DePondFi’23 dataset will support vision-based fish health analysis, and the event highlighted its potential to transform the aquaculture sector in line with current environmental and financial concerns. Our DePondFi’23 challenge provides a forum for inter-disciplinary discussion, which aids fish farm decision-making and ecosystem health maintenance. This article discusses the details of the dataset developed for the DePondFi’23 challenge and provides the extensive results attained by the Top 3 winners of our challenge event.
