As one of the important equipment in HVDC transmission system, the main insulation structure of converter transformer is oil-paper insulation structure composed of transformer oil and high-density laminated transformer paperboard. In the long-term operation process, due to the effect of temperature gradient, electric field and other factors, the internal insulation material may gradually age, leading to changes in insulation performance. Therefore, it is necessary to study the electrical properties of insulating materials under different working conditions and aging time. This paper studies the surface flashover and dielectric loss factors of three kinds of transformer oil impregnated paperboard aged at 90 ℃ for 1 day, 7 days, 21 days, 28 days and 35 days. The evolution laws of the electrical properties of three kinds of oil-impregnated paperboard were obtained, and, through the horizontal comparison, the data support was provided for the selection of insulation materials for converter transformer.
