Design and Analysis of Highly Sensitive Piezoelectric Actuated Accelerometer

In this paper, a detailed study of piezoelectric accelerometer is carried out to increase the sensitivity. A four S-shape beam piezoelectric accelerometer is designed and simulated in COMSOL multiphysics software. The frequency study, Eigen frequency study, and time-dependent study are done to analyze the characteristics of the proposed accelerometer. The sensitivity of the proposed structured is analyzed for optimum defection conditions. A new design is proposed, and the sensitivity of the designed accelerometer is compared with the sensitivity of other accelerometers available in the market. The paper aims to obtain an accelerometer with high sensitivity keeping the size of the structure intact.
