The rapid development of technology and the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) have revolutionized communication systems. Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IoT concepts, historical context, and profound implications, this chapter explains how AI and IoT will impact future communication systems. AI and IoT techniques and algorithms are presented in communication systems. Integrated IoT and AI applications have become enhanced techniques based on scalability, adaptability, security, and data privacy considerations. Moreover, several industries are turning their manual logistics into IoT-based platforms that are easier to manage and more accurate than before due to the use of the IoT. It is also safe to assume that the reliability of these systems is very high since AI has the power to operate them. Several emerging trends and innovations are explored in this chapter, including the future of IoT and AI in communication systems, Smart Cities and Urban Infrastructure, Healthcare and Telemedicine, Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing, and AI for IoT in the future of communication systems. THZ Communication System, Communication Based on Semantics, Problems with High Energy Efficiency, IoT-based hardware design for AI devices, Edge Computing and IoT, and AI-driven 6G Networks will be discussed.
