Polymers
摘要
Polymers, when used in cement and concrete, serve as modifiers to improve the mechanical properties, durability, and resistance of these materials to environmental factors. The integration of polymers into cementitious materials, often referred to as polymer-modified cement or concrete, involves the addition of polymer emulsions, redispersible powders, or water-soluble polymers during the mixing process. These polymers form a film around cement particles, enhancing the adhesive characteristics and flexibility of the composite material. The mechanism through which polymers improve cement and concrete involves the modification of the microstructure, reducing porosity and improving the interface between the cement paste and aggregates.
