Microsilica
摘要
Microsilica, also known as silica fume, is a byproduct of the production of silicon and ferrosilicon alloys, consisting of very fine particles of amorphous silicon dioxide. It is widely used in the concrete industry to enhance the mechanical properties, durability, and performance of concrete, especially in severe environmental conditions. Microsilica is highly pozzolanic, which means it contributes significantly to the strength and impermeability of concrete by enhancing the material’s reaction with water during the hydration process.
