Magnesia
摘要
Magnesia, also known as magnesium oxide (MgO), is an inorganic compound commonly utilized in the construction industry, particularly in the formulation of cement and concrete. The compound is valued for its refractory properties, resistance to heat, and ability to undergo expansive reactions which can mitigate shrinkage and improve durability under severe conditions. When incorporated into cement, magnesia reacts with water to form magnesium hydroxide, a process that can impart significant changes to the material properties of the resultant concrete. This application is particularly important in constructions exposed to severe environmental stressors, such as freeze-thaw cycles, chemical spills, or high-salinity environments.
