Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag Cement
摘要
Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag (GGBFS) cement, often referred to as slag cement, is a type of blended cement that incorporates ground granulated blast furnace slag with Portland cement in varying proportions. This hybrid cement is highly prized for its enhanced durability, reduced environmental impact, and improved strength over time compared to traditional Portland cement. The use of GGBFS in cement and concrete not only utilizes a by-product from the steel manufacturing industry, thus reducing waste, but also significantly lowers the carbon footprint of cement production by decreasing the amount of clinker required. The enhanced properties of slag cement make it especially suitable for use in harsh environmental conditions, where resistance to sulfate attack, chloride penetration, and alkali-silica reaction are critical.
