Carbon Capture and Utilization
摘要
Carbon capture and utilization (CCU) in the context of cement and concrete industries involves capturing carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions from industrial processes and directly utilizing it to create value-added products, notably concrete. This approach not only helps reduce the environmental impact of CO 2 emissions but also enhances the properties of concrete. In the cement industry, significant CO 2 emissions occur during the calcination of limestone and the combustion of fuels. By capturing this CO 2 and using it in concrete, the industry can close the carbon loop and move toward more sustainable production methods.
