Acoustic Emission
摘要
Acoustic emission (AE) refers to the phenomenon where transient elastic waves are generated by the rapid release of energy from localized sources within a material. In the context of cement and concrete, AE monitoring is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method used to detect and analyze the microstructural changes and damage processes occurring within the material. The importance of AE in the construction industry lies in its ability to provide real-time monitoring of the structural integrity of concrete, allowing for early detection of issues such as cracking, delamination, and corrosion of reinforcement. AE is particularly valuable in assessing the durability and performance of concrete structures exposed to severe environmental conditions, where traditional inspection methods may be inadequate.
