Telehealth and Digital Health Innovations: Transforming Healthcare Delivery in the Asia-Pacific Region
摘要
This chapter explores the transformative potential of telehealth and digital health innovations in addressing healthcare challenges across the Asia-Pacific region. With a population of over 4.5 billion, the region faces significant healthcare disparities due to geographic isolation, an aging population, and chronic disease prevalence. Telehealth, encompassing real time consultations, remote monitoring, and AI-driven diagnostics, has emerged as a vital solution for overcoming these barriers. Through case studies from countries such as Australia, Malaysia, India, and Indonesia, this chapter highlights the successful implementation of telehealth services, particularly in remote and underserved areas. The chapter also examines the challenges hindering telehealth adoption, including the digital divide, regulatory barriers, and technological interoperability issues. Looking ahead, the chapter discusses the future prospects of telehealth, focusing on the role of 5G, blockchain, and telemedicine robots, as well as strategies for ensuring the sustainability and scalability of digital health innovations. Ultimately, the chapter calls for continued investment, policy support, and cross-sector collaboration to ensure equitable access to healthcare services for all populations across the Asia-Pacific region.
