Dignity, Health, and Well-Being
摘要
In recent decades, the comprehension of human development and well-being has transitioned from a conventional emphasis on wealth and consumption to a more nuanced multidimensional perspective. In this context, the loss of human dignity is often interwoven with experiences of vulnerability. Hence, responsive care is ethically necessary since vulnerable people depend on others for their well-being. After discussing the theoretical framework for comprehending human dignity’s contextual character, this essay underlines the healthcare professional’s role as a moral agent in the promotion of safe and ethical care. Moreover, a new focus was given to health promotion and the pedagogy of vulnerability as strategies that allow fundamental human rights to be respected and contribute to the protection of human dignity.
