Antimicrobial Metallo-Detergents as Disinfectants: Smart Materials for Fighting Community-Acquired Infections
摘要
In this chapter, we present the need for and development of metallosurfactants as novel antimicrobial agents. These are active against a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi and are thus referred to as broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents. Also, as these metallosurfactants possess detergent-like properties (being amphiphilic), these can be used as cleansing agents by just dissolving them in water.
