This chapter explores Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and its role in evaluating healthcare innovations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness. It highlights the significance of HTA in guiding clinicians, policymakers, and investors in making informed decisions about medical technologies. The chapter also discusses India’s HTA framework (HTAIn), its goals, and key resource centers. A special focus is given to the ICMR-CIBioD telemedicine kiosk, an innovative solution enhancing healthcare accessibility in rural areas through remote diagnostics and consultations. The assessment of this kiosk’s impact, cost-effectiveness, and potential to improve healthcare delivery is also examined.
