Traditionally, small states have been seen as having little impact and strength on the international scene and are frequently eclipsed by more prominent, dominant countries. However, Qatar’sQatar experiences refute this widely held belief and show that small states can play a crucial role in IR. However, in a world characterised by geopolitical complexities and dynamic power shifts, small states have emerged as influential players, challenging traditional narratives that depict them as inherently weak and vulnerable.
