The deaf and mute community is inflicted with significant barriers to communication, leading to social and professional exclusion due to limited access to sign language interpretation devices. The paper includes extensive research on different methods available and provides a comparative analysis to gain insight into the tools available and the accuracy of each. This study identifies research gaps that our solution—SignEase will effectively bridge. SignEase is an assistive technology that fills in this gap by utilizing gestures and sign language recognition, focusing on Indian Sign Language and American Sign Language. It utilizes the latest learning mechanisms, such as CNN, LSTM, and NLP, through which gestures can be transcribed into text or voice commands in real-time. It brings gesture recognition with the translation of sign language together with virtual assistance to deaf and mute people, enriching their experience of communication across various platforms. This solution not only enhances accessibility but also enables people to interact more easily with their learning counterparts.
