The Internet of Things is propelled by two factors: the first is the growth of the Internet by adding physical items, and the second is the capacity to offer more intelligent services to the environment as more data becomes accessible. The Internet of Things concepts are already beginning to yield benefits in several application sectors, including energy efficiency, logistics, and green information technology. One essential component of the IoT is the data routing process from source to sink. Two networks were created in NetSim simulator for the simulation in this paper. These networks used IoT sensor-derived water quality and potability datasets from Datahub and Kaggle. The IoT network designed in NetSim includes a server, a router, a 6LoWPAN gateway, and six sensor nodes in the first network and nine sensor nodes in the second network. To ensure smooth communication and effective data transfer, each sensor is set up to create data packets on a regular basis and send them to the server via the 6LoWPAN gateway.
