Fatigue Behavior of Steel Plates in Neutral Salt Spray Environment
摘要
Fatigue is a kind of phenomenon in which strength of steel structures at failure is greatly reduced than the yield strength subjected to long-term use of periodic loads. It is one of important issues in the field of durability of steel structures. Steel structures in chloride ion environment are prone to corrosion. Irregular morphology caused by corrosion deteriorates fatigue properties of steel. In this study, six steel plates were prepared to evaluate fatigue behavior after single- or double-sided corrosion in neutral salt spray environment. Fatigue tests were then carried out on tensile coupon specimens, and the relationship between fatigue life and corrosion parameters was investigated.
