Crops: Plants Cultivated by Humans
摘要
In the Paleolithic Age, humans gathered edible parts from wild plants and occasionally hunted animals to obtain calories and nutrients. About 10,000 years ago, humans began practicing agriculture, cultivating plants. Today, humanity cultivates approximately 150 plant species for consumption, and these cultivated plants are called crops. The relationship between humans and crops has continued to evolve through mutual dependence, to the point where over 8 billion people cannot survive without crops, and crops, in turn, struggle to survive in the wild without human cultivation and management.
