Relationships formed in social life influence both parties involved. While humans have altered plants through agriculture, agriculture has also brought tremendous changes to human society. The large population of humans (8 billion and counting!) currently inhabiting the Earth owes much to domesticated crops. Through the cultivation of crops, humans gained a stable food supply, which enabled massive population growth [28, 45]. The increase in population and the complexity of society have led to remarkable advancements in culture and knowledge.
