Experimental Investigation of Bluntness Effects on Transition on a 7-Degree Blunted Cone
摘要
An experimental investigation into transition on a 7-degree blunted cone was conducted at the University of Arizona. Evidence that the primary instability was suppressed as blunting increased was detected. Additionally, as blunting increased, a subsequent strengthening of energy near the boundary layer edge was detected, and a potential entropy layer type instability was detected using spectral proper orthogonal decomposition.
