This technology gives significant improvement in nanoscale to create novel materials and devices that can be applied through the different agricultural domains. The usage of nanotechnology in agribusiness highlights several key areas, including plant protection, nutrient delivery, soil enhancement, plant breeding, food safety and quality, biopesticides, and precision agriculture. In plant protection, nanomaterials can improve the efficiency and environmental safety of pesticides by enabling targeted delivery systems and controlled release, thereby minimizing lots of disadvantages. Additionally, nanotechnology enhanced nutrient delivery systems that improve the bioavailability of fertilizers, while increasing the harvest of the fields and reduce the wastage. Moreover, the application of nanotechnology to soil management system, where nanoscale materials can improve the structure of soil, water retention capacity, nutrient availability and protect the health level of soil across microbial activities. In the context of food safety, nanotechnology can be used for the development of smart packaging materials where nano-sensors that can detect pesticides, pathogens in agri-products, ensuring food safety and quality. Despite its advantages, use of nanotechnology in agribusiness faces challenges, and therefore there is a need for further research and development to address potential environmental and health risks. Strategic implementation of nanotechnology in agribusiness includes integrating precision farming systems and developing eco-friendly alternatives for resource management, aligning with the industry’s sustainability goals. Looking ahead, the future outlook for nanotechnology in agribusiness is promising, with potential breakthroughs in crop improvement, environmental protection, and addressing global food security challenges through sustainable farming innovations.
