Techniques and Challenges in OFDM Implementation with LabVIEW and USRP: A Performance Perspective
摘要
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is the key to wireless communication with high spectral efficiency and immunity to multipath fading. The paper emphasizes the implementation of OFDM using LabVIEW and Universal Software Radio Peripheral, dealing with challenges such as PAPR, ICI, and synchronization issues. By using the platform of software-defined radio, advanced techniques like Selective Mapping, companding, and Doppler shift compensation are investigated for improved system performance. The study synthesizes findings from 25 recent research works, emphasizing improvements in metrics such as signal-to-noise ratio, bit error rate, and PAPR reduction. Comparative analyses demonstrate the practical feasibility of LabVIEW-USRP setups, especially for emerging applications in 5G and IoT. Future research should focus on the limitations of real-time processing, computational complexity, and spectrum efficiency to further advance OFDM systems. This survey will be a comprehensive guide for researchers and engineers who want to optimize SDR-based OFDM implementations.
