Leveraging State-of-the-Art Technologies in the Construction of Buildings at Chandigarh
摘要
The two innovative construction technologies that the country is currently experiencing tremendous growth in are explained in this article. They consist of 3D concrete printing and precast construction, each with unique benefits and distinctions. Currently accounting for 10% of the country's growth index, the building industry mostly relies upon expensive labour, formwork, etc. To make the best use of our resources moving forward, we had to evaluate the different possibilities. In this instance, we decided to implement both 3D printing and precast technology in simultaneously. The project case study focuses on the development of six buildings in Chandigarh that would have transit accommodations and residential space on the ground and two floors. By utilising the adaptability of precast construction and 3D concrete printing technologies, we approached this project as a custom-made, technology-driven design. The entire process—from concept to commissioning—as well as issues with design and execution, will be explained.
